Our Story

Grace Chinese Baptist Church (GCBC) started as a mission of the First Baptist Church of Plano in 1977. The first pastor was Rev. Kenneth Yao. The first deacon was Dr.Lam. In 1981, the church started to meet at Richardson Heights Baptist Church as its mission church seeking to outreach to the Chinese new immigrants. In 1992, Jay Yu, Caleb Goh and Teeching Ong were ordained as church deacons. They have been faithfully serving the Lord at this local church since then.

Praise the Lord for His abundant grace and leading, the church purchased the existing Parkview Plaza and moved to worship here on February 23, 1993. The church recognizes and appreciates God’s providential care, provision and faithfulness in its growth from very modest beginnings in 1977 to now occupy an expanded site in the central Plano area and in its effective ministry to over 100 people every Sunday. The church emphasizes preaching, teaching and obeying the Word of God. It is committed to sound biblical teaching and follow the legacy of grace of God to serve the local communities, Christian organizations, oversea missionaries and church leaders throughout the world.

While serving the Mandarin, Cantonese and English speaking community, we reach out to different ethnic groups of people. By working with various Small Group, Discipleship program and outreach ministries we have continued an emphasis on evangelism and spiritual growth. Through these many years of spreading the gospel to the community and making the disciples of Jesus Christ, we have remained a biblically sound, family oriented church that desire to love God, share life and impact others.
